Forestry Tasmania operate on various frequencies and have sites state-wide which provide good coverage, they also have several fire lookout sites around the state that are responsible for keeping an eye out for forest fires, most of these become active in the warmer months with workers doing shift work to maintain an around the clock watch.

 

Most communications are straight forward and easy to follow which makes listening to the Forestry very easy, most of the time you won't hear a lot of activity unless they are working on fire reduction, fire spotting or other outside work, however during bush fire season or planned burn off's communications can be quite frequent and busy.

 

Please note that Forestry Tasmania also share some sites / frequencies with Parks & Wildlife Services. The Targa Tasmania event has also been known to make use of some of these as well.
