The EDACS network currently has 4 users, Aurora Energy, Tasmania Police, Ericsson's and Inland Fisheries, all though not much is known or heard of from the Inland Fisheries they have been known to use the network at times.

Please note that some sites are capable of Encrypted Digital Transmissions which cannot be decoded and listened in to under any circumstances, those capable of this will be marked as such.

Current Network Status:

The TMRS (Tasmanian Mobile Radio Service?) currently has Four known users:

Aurora and it's sub-groups. Used fully all areas.

Tas Police Service - all groups in all areas. Analogue mostly, some digital when required.

Ericsson and associated contractors - all areas.

Inland Fisheries Commission - unknown details, but known to make use of the network.

Stornoway & Spectran transport are no longer using the system.

Tasmanian Ambulance Service was trialling the system, tests only, no operational usage, have decided to expand existing VHF network.

Tas Fire Service was trialling the system, possibly operationally in some areas. Unknown status otherwise.

Aurora also transmits data across the network, mainly in the south-east of the State. Ericsson also occasionally transmit data, too.

Continual network 'tweaking' and improvements are being made, and it can be expected that some base stations will have capacity expanded, or new fill in sites put in place

Abbreviations
  Often you will hear the Police use abbreviations in day to day communications, below we will attempt to list as many as possible and what they stand for or mean, if you have any to add please email them to us and we will list them here.
FVO Family Violence Order - Issued to person(s) that are accused of a Domestic offence.
SIT REP Situation Report - Updated information on a current situation or event from the first officer(s) on the scene.
DVIR Domestic Violence Incident Report - A report filled out by the officer(s) attending a Domestic situation or incident.
IR Information / Incident Report - Filled out by officer(s) who have attended an incident or crime and then filed into the *IDM. (* See further down)
Transport Dept. Of Transports Vehicle & Licensing System - Used to check if vehicles are registered, current / previous owners and status of licences.
CRIB Meal Brake Or 'Smoko' - As the name suggests, meal or break time.
IB Information Bureau - The checking of people's backgrounds & other information like physical details, body marks or features and other charges they have had before etc.
Short Transport Transportation Of Person(s) - This can be the transportation of other officers or members of the public to certain destinations, often used when taking people home who are intoxicated or found hitchhiking.
TIN Traffic Infringement Notice - Ticket issued to a member of the public for an infringement on a public street or road. i.e. Speeding fine or bald tyres etc.
VSRT Victim Safety Response Team - Responsible for looking after victims of domestic violence.
IDM Integrated Data Management - The place where IR's (Information Reports) are compiled into a searchable database.
OR Offence Report - A report generated after a crime or incident is committed and then a 6 digit number is created by the call centre.
CACS Command And Control System - The interface that RDS, Radio Dispatch Services, use and each job is given a unique CACS number.
RBT Random Breath Testing - The setting up of sites to test motorists for the presence of alcohol in there system.
PERP Perpetrator / Offender - Meaning a criminal, crook or offender etc.
MVA Motor Vehicle Accident - A vehicle crash.
SMV Stolen Motor Vehicle - As it suggests, a vehicle that has been stolen.
